Remove volume icons from ubuntu desktop

Did you feel awkward looking at the ubuntu desktop with the volume icons of windows partitions. Well here i am providing you with a small tip to get rid of this thing.

press ALT+F2 while you are anywhere on the ubuntu. A screen will come up. Type gconf-editor in that (see the below image)  and press enter

Now you will see the below screen, the configuration editor  showed up

In that goto apps->nautilus->desktop and uncheck the volumes_visible in it. If you want computer and home icon in your desktop then you can do that too.

Now you have got a beautiful desktop without any volume icons.
